Business Development Manager, Export

The Business Development Manager, China Export will lead a small team of business development professionals to identify and realize opportunities for company products, solutions and service offerings to be included in consolidated offerings as Chinese Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) companies, State Owned Enterprises (SOE) and other Chinese companies go abroad with engineering services, direct investments and local solutions.

The successful candidate will interact frequently with the Business Development Director for China Export & company business and functional leaders across the various Strategic Business Units . He/she is an excellent broad-based business thinker who can collaborate effectively with other functional leaders as well as business line leaders.

In this role the candidate will report to the Business Development Director for China Export. The key objective of this role is to grow the China export business for company through early identification & pursuit of major projects around the world. Main focus will be on the product centric BUs.

The ideal candidate will be based out of China, preferably Shanghai or Beijing, and comfortable with global travel; upwards of 50%. However we do encourage suitable candidates outside of the Shanghai or Beijing area to apply with the understanding that relocation will be required.

Responsibilities:

• Analysis and tracking of China Outward Direct Investments and Engineering Contracts
• Identification and qualification of target projects that meet BUs goals.
• Establish relationships with key customer entities
• Establish Business Development plan
- Understand customers’ strategic plans
- Establish plans, events & workshops.
- Establish partnerships to increase our reach into adjacent markets.
• Map out customer stake holders’ org chart, roles & responsibilities
• Influence scope of supply & specifications
• Be able to position the entire company portfolio at early stage
• Coordinate necessary sales resources across multiple SBUs.
• Reach out to destination company stake holders.
• Assist sales lead to create, communicate & coordinate sales plans & actions, roles & responsibilities, sales credits, etc.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required in finance, technical or marketing field.
• Minimum of 7 years combined business development, sales and marketing experience in a product centric business.
• Understand sales in the system integrator and product distribution model.
• Proven success leading business development opportunities in diverse technology and/or manufacturing driven industries.
• Fluent in speaking and writing in Mandarin and English.
Additional Qualifications:
• Self-starter.
• Proven capacity to be effective in a complex global business environment.
• Knowledge of Energy Management, Security Management, Building Automation highly helpful.
• Organized and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to identify issues, requirements and opportunities for improvement.
• Proven track record of business development, marketing or sales role.
